Prologue
Late one evening, a lone light shined in the window of an old Victorian-style mansion situated in the hills above Greendale. Inside, a tall, slender man with a shock of unruly white hair atop his head, wearing a lab coat, stood above a row of potted plants, each with a clump of vines nestled around its base, making notes on a clipboard. Another man, shorter than the first, with a bald head and a rotund figure, also wearing a lab coat, entered the room. “Any progress, Herr Doctor?” the second man asked, speaking with a heavy German accent.
“Some, Heinrich, but it’s slow,” the white-haired man replied
